Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth is set to star as socialite Jackie Siegel in the upcoming musical The Queen of Versailles, adapted from the 2012 documentary about the Siegel family’s attempt to build America’s largest private home. The show explores the family’s rise, ambitions, and challenges.
Chenoweth reunites with composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz, known for their work together on Wicked. While the musical is a departure from her role as Glinda the Good Witch, Chenoweth says it offers a chance to showcase a different side of her talent.
Previews began on October 8, 2025, at New York’s St. James Theatre, with the official Broadway opening scheduled for November 9, 2025. The production has already generated buzz for its high-profile creative team and its focus on ambition, wealth, and real-life drama.
